Will the real
EMS please stand up?
Some folks
say that imitation is the finest form of flattery, but it can cause some
real problems in the business world.
Recently, a
competitor of ours in Louisville, KY adopted a deceptively similar name to
our own, causing some serious confusion.
We would
like to take this opportunity to reassure our customers that the real
EMS is still standing; ready, able and willing to service your tradeshow
needs in Louisville, and throughout our entire service area. |
| The
EACA Gets a New Face (and so do we).

Exhibit Management Solutions is proud to
announce that, just after the last issue of Trade Secrets
went to press, we became a member of the Exhibitor Appointed
Contractor Association. The EACA seeks to "raise the level of
service excellence on the showfloor", conducts periodic
training and safety seminars, and serves as an advocacy group for
independent tradeshow services providers. We sincerely hope that our
participation in the EACA will help the industry as a whole (and get
those pesky EAC fees reduced).
Also on the proud front: Have you seen our
website lately? We’ve transmogrified it into an interesting,
informative, and interactive portal, that won’t give you pink eye
(if you never saw the old site, it was a peculiar shade). Our
address is still www.exhibitorsolutions.com, but you can also
bookmark: www.emsiandd.com.

| Refurb
Tech-Tips: Look Good With What You've Got.
|

Kris Fox
Many companies that exhibit with a 10' backwall use
portable pop-up or panel displays. These assets are shipped
around the country, typically from
show to show. Needless to say, by the third or fourth show of
the season, the panels can look a little rough around the
edges -- literally. The magnets from one panel will imprint on
the fabric of another.
To rejuvenate these panels, our techs have developed what
we call an "instant showfloor refurbishment". By
adding an empty spray |
bottle and a stiff brush to your show kit, you can use the
following technique to remove the imprint marks in fabric
panels:
After
setting up the exhibit (but before adding headers and
graphics), fill your bottle with water from the nearest
water-fountain.
With the bottles' nozzle set to "mist", lightly
spray the fabric of one panel, overlapping the edges.
Brush the fabric using upward strokes, paying special
attention to the edges. |
This process works best on velvet-loop panels, and is no
substitute for a professional refurb, but it can go a very
long way to helping your client look their best.
